10-Day-Trading-Distractions

You see, they never bother you when you are not doing what you are supposed to be doing. That is to say, those distractions don’t come when you are not walking in the will of God, or at least trying too, anyway.  Does that make sense?

Basically, as long as you are not doing what God says…you are not distracted.

Have you ever noticed that the closer you get or are starting to get to God, the more things come to distract you, until it is hard to stay focused on the things that you need to.

All of a sudden there is always something to do, something that needs to be done (right around the same time that you would usually be spending time with God), there’s someone that needs something. For some reason life has now taken a sudden turn for the extremely busy and you are now juggling to try to keep from putting God on the back burner and sliding back to where you were prior to….

Distractions –

These can be anything…anything to keep you from spending time with God like you used to spend with Him. Now you spend all that time on relationships (Boyfriends/Girlfriends, Friends, etc), family, social media, jobs, self, and storms are just some examples of the usual culprits when it comes to the things that can cause you to take your eyes and time off of and away from Him.

I must admit, I personally have fallen for these distractions (and struggle to balance and keep from falling for them over and over). The up side about all this is that God gives us the ability to recognize them for what they are and to do something about it.

When you (we) find yourself (ourselves) becoming distracted that is the time to STOP what we are doing and pray.  Take action, do not let it become out of hand.

It is at this point we need to ask God to clear the clutter from our minds, refocus them, clean our hearts and allow/help us to place Him back in and KEEP Him in the position where He belongs…

The NUMBER 1 spot.

When we allow distractions or idols (which can be anything that we place above God) to bump God to the back burner or remove Him from the top position in our lives we open ourselves up to all kinds of trouble.

1 John 5: 21

When we allow that to happen at that point it is like we are saying that “Yes we know that You have done great things for us, but we have it from here, and so does ____,” and it should NEVER be like that because WHO IS LIKE OUR GOD?

God is too GREAT to allow a distraction (idol) to take His place. There is to be no idols before Him and we should not let distractions draw us away from Him. Yes, it will be hard, because distractions will come. They are on the hunt and they do not want us to be close to God nor do they want us walking in our destiny.

Keep you First

*DISCLAIMER* I am not calling all friends, family, boyfriends/girlfriends, etc. distractions. What I am saying is that when you begin to compromise your beliefs or your walk begins to change/suffer (not in a positive way) or you feel as if you are not as close with God as you were before then you need to look at all aspects of your relationships (myself included) to see what changed and ask God to fix it and fix you/me/us. So that we can get back to the place that we once were in Him and continue to GROW and produce GOOD fruit.

He loves us and wants the best for us. Distractions will come and go, however, GOD and HIS love are forever and that is a wonderful thing. So stay focused. Pray for focus. It is definitely worth it and definitely necessary.

Dear God,

Thank you for all You do.  Please help us to maintain focus on You.  Allow us to recognize distractions for what they are.  Please renew our minds and create clean hearts within us.  Help us to keep You always first in our lives, and to walk in Your ways.  Help us to hear and listen to Your voice and to follow the path You have laid before us.  Allow us not to be distracted by the things of the world and instead draw closer to You, in every way.  Create a new and fresh praise in our hearts, and a renewing of our spirits in You.  Help us to learn Your ways, as we take the time to develop a closer relationship with You. Grant us discernment that we may see the distractions for what they are.  We give all praise unto Your name.  Thank you for everything that You have done and are doing in our lives.  Please hear our prayers. You said ask and it shall be given. So we are asking for a fresh anointing and closer relationship with You . We thank you in advance for the moves that You are getting ready to make.  In Jesus name we pray.

Amen!
